Music teacher inspired children

A MUSIC teacher is retiring, but she doesn’t plan on winding down.

Maureen Boocock has been giving music lessons at Ravensthorpe Infant and Nursery School for 15 years.

She said: “I love music and I just wanted to give my love of music to the children, and I just love being with children.”

But even though Mrs Boocock left school for the last time on Friday, she still plans on working with local choirs and other musical projects.

She said: “I’m not winding down, I’m just shifting my way of working. I would love to go and work in the community.”

Mrs Boocock said that she would miss “the enthusiasm that you get from the children when you see them achieve”.

Headteacher Linda Whittaker said: “She has been an inspiration.”
