Mumford’s the word

NU-FOLK favourites Mumford & Sons are heading to Huddersfield.

The band, which played Glastonbury last summer, will be at Greenhead Park on Saturday June 2 for the Gentlemen of the Road tour.

The tour’s Huddersfield Stopover will also include BBC Sound of 2012 winner Michael Kiwanuka, Nathaniel Rateliff, The Correspondents and Willy Mason.

It is their only ‘mini festival’ date in the UK before they move on to Ireland and America.

Tickets are £49.50 and will be on sale from Saturday April 21 from www.gentlemenoftheroad.com. Local outlets will also be listed on the website.

Mumford & Sons’ Sigh No More reached number two in the album charts, and they have taken the music world by storm with their contemporary folk style of music.

The following weekend there will be a three day festival at Greenhead to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
