Floral tributes have been left at the scene of the accident by shocked friends and family. One of the notes left for Miss Binns says: “My beautiful mummy. I love you so much. I will never forget you.” Another reads: “To my beautiful friend, I will never stop thinking about you. I have all our great memories to think about when I miss you. Love you lots Miss Binns, Emily.”

Another says: “Gone but never forgotten. Heaven has found its most beautiful angel. You will always be in my thoughts. Love Naz.”

Miss Binns, of Batley, worked at the Tesco store in the town and colleagues were said to be devastated.

Store manager Peter Fay said: “Sarah joined Tesco in June 2007 and worked on our clothing department. The last few months Sarah had been working on our electrical department helping customers choose the right products for them.

“Sarah was a very popular member of staff both with customers and her colleagues. She had an infectious smile and a lovely personality. She always tried to help her colleagues and her customers. Nothing was too much trouble at all, she was an absolute pleasure to manage.

“Her friends right across our store are devastated and she will be sorely missed by us all. Our thoughts are with her family.”

A spokeswoman for Woodkirk Valley Country Club said: “It’s just absolutely unbelievable, it’s absolutely dreadful – we are just so upset for the family.”

Anyone with any information about the accident is asked to contact PC 5031 Kerry Gibson at the Major Collision Enquiry Team on 101.
