‘Mr Sparkles’ faces even more jail time
Mohammed Azam Yaqoob, known as “Mr Sparkles”, was jailed for nine years in 2014 for his part in a £5m drug trafficking conspiracy, and was ordered to pay back nearly £1m by the judge.
But a spokeswoman for the Crown Prosecution Service said Yaqoob, of Ravensthorpe, had not yet paid this back, and the case was set for an enforcement hearing.

“As the defendant has failed to pay the order, the case has been listed for an enforcement hearing where we will seek activation of the default sentence of 54 months.”
The case is set to appear at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on March 23.
