Emma Day is currently in five national pageants and hopes to set up her own – Miss Bradford Road, to aid Help For Heroes, Freshfield Animal Rescue and Claire House Hospice.

The 19-year-old student wants it to be a positive pageant focused on personality. “We want it to be as fun as possible,” said Emma. “You can do it on your own or with a group of friends.”

Emma said 75 per cent of the score would be based on personality, confidence and how much fun you’re having on stage. There are no height, size or entry requirements. “It’s not a beauty pageant based on looks, it’s a pageant to promote confidence, friendly competition and raise money for three fantastic charities,” she added.

Ages five to nine will be competing for Tiny Miss, ages ten to 12 for Junior Miss, ages 13 to 19 for Teen Miss and ages 20 plus competing for Miss Forever. Enter by sending your name, age and why you wish to enter yourself or someone else along with a picture to [email protected] or search Miss Bradford Road on Facebook.

The entry deadline is March 31 and 25 finalists will be selected from each category. The pageant date will be announced at a later date.
