Mirfield stables to host fun day in tragic teen’s memory
A family who lost a friend to meningitis at the age of 14 is helping organise a fun day to help raise awareness of the illness and money to fight it.
William Blackburn died within two hours of a meningitis rash appearing on his skin on December 30 last year.
On Saturday April 13, he would have been celebrating his 15th birthday with his best friend Jack Bray, who was born just four days before him.
