They now want to appeal for volunteers to help with the event.

The show will feature agricultural and animal-based attractions as well as food, trade and craft stalls. Various competitions will also take place throughout the day.

A craft marquee will contain a range of arts and crafts, home-made and hand-crafted goods, all produced in Yorkshire. Children under 16 will once again be able to visit the show for free.

Karen Bullivant, chairman of the Mirfield Show Society, said: “The key for 2015 is to provide a fun packed day out for all the family. We have exciting new attractions planned and, once again, we are keeping the entrance fees the same as the last two years.”

The not-for-profit event relies entirely on sponsorship from companies, organisations and individuals. The cost of sponsorship package starts from £150.

It is still possible to apply for a stall at the show, although places are limited. The closing day for applications is February 27. Anyone interested in finding out more about the show or joining the team is welcome to attend the Annual General Meeting on February 9 at 7.30pm in the Navigation Tavern.

Karen said: “We are not a boring and stuffy committee and I can promise it is less daunting than it sounds.

“We are a team that brings people together from different ages, areas and interests. It’s a great place to meet a wide variety of people. We are always looking for new blood to get involved and continue to inject new life into the show.”

The Mirfield Show was held for the first time in 1945. After big initial success, the annual show declined and stopped in the 1980s.

It was revived in 1995 and now attracts 12,000 visitors each year from Yorkshire and beyond. Adult tickets for the 2015 event are priced at £3.50 if purchased in advance, or £5 at the gate. To buy tickets, book a stall or become a sponsor, go to www.mirfieldshow.com.
