
Her head was no bigger than a satsuma.
She spent the first few months of her life in hospital, but is now at home in Upper Hopton with her parents David and Chloe.
“The hardest part was waiting five-and-a-half weeks for the first cuddle,” Chloe said.
At just nine months, Maya has already endured heart surgery, laser eye surgery and nine blood transfusions.
Her family has not been able to celebrate her birth properly yet, but is busy planning her christening next month.
