MBE for education work

A DEWSBURY woman was presented with an MBE by the Prince of Wales on Friday 18th November.

Jean Hardy was appointed MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for her services to education, recognising her 20 years’ service as a governor at West Nottinghamshire College – the last 15 as chairman.

Mrs Hardy, who attended Dewsbury Secondary Technical School, and her husband Robin were well known in Mirfield where they lived before moving to Nottinghamshire in 1986. Mrs Hardy was chairman of the Ladies Circle and Mr Hardy a Round Table member.

Her mother and brothers still live in Dewsbury.
