Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the assault tale place, outside a convenience store in Chickenley last month.

Officers are particularly keen to speak to two people who the victim recalls seeing at a bus stop near where the offence took place in Princess Lane.

The victim, a 55-year-old man, was walking towards the shop between 4.50pm and 5pm on Monday February 17, when he was pushed to the ground. He suffered a cracked rib, bruising and grazes as a result of the assault.

PC Kirsty Wright said: “The victim remembers seeing a man and a woman, similar in age to him, standing at a bus stop by where this offence has occurred. We are keen to speak to these two people as potential witnesses.

“I would also urge anyone else who was in the area around the time of this offence and may have seen the assault or have information about the person or people responsible to give us a call.”

Information should be passed to PC Wright in Kirklees Professional Development Unit on 101.
