A man was left with a broken jaw after being attacked in a Batley nightclub at the weekend.

Police say the assault on the 33-year-old man in the Frontier was unprovoked and are appealing for witnesses.

Det Con Mark Gregory, from Kirklees CID, said: “The incident occurred at some point between midnight and 2am on Saturday when the victim was struck to the side of the face while looking towards the dance floor of the Frontier Nightclub on Bradford Road.

“As a result of the assault the victim, who is from Tingley, suffered a broken jaw in two places that has since required surgery.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the venue at the time and saw the incident to get in touch.”
