A man was left with a serious head injury after falling from a third floor window during a party in Dewsbury.
The 26-year-old remains seriously ill in hospital following the incident in Cemetery Road on Saturday morning.
He is thought to have fallen around 25ft onto stone paving after a row broke out at a block of flats just after 7.30pm.
Det Insp Stephanie Wiseman, of Kirklees CID, said yesterday: “He is in hospital and likely to be so for some time.”
Detectives arrested a 19-year-old man who has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
Det Insp Andy Parr, of Kirklees CID, said: “We need to speak to everybody who was at that party.
“There may have been people there that we don’t know about or who do not know about this incident.
“The victim is lucky to be alive as he had just missed landing on a pile of disused car axles.
“He was taken to hospital with significant injuries and has also undergone surgery for a serious head injury.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Kirklees CID via 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
