Man robbed by fellow bus passenger in Dewsbury

A man was robbed last night (Wednesday) by someone who had been travelling on the same bus into Dewsbury town centre.

The 39-year-old victim had boarded the 268 bus to Dewsbury near the Butcher’s Arms in Staincliffe.

When the bus reached the station, another passenger followed him out along South Street.

The robber threatened him in Nelson Street, saying he would be hurt if he did not hand over his money.

Detectives are now looking for a white man in his early 30s in connection with the robbery between 8pm and 8.30pm.

The suspect is described as plump, 5ft 7in, with light brown hair and black framed glasses.
