Man robbed at knifepoint in Batley

A man was robbed at knifepoint soon after using a cash machine in Batley.

Two men went up to the victim outside Low Kost Motor Spares in Bradford Road at around 9pm on Sunday December 7.

He had used a cash machine in Commercial street not long before the robbery.

The men asked if he wanted to buy a mobile phone and he said no.

They then demanded cash, pulled out knives and assaulted the man, who fell to the floor.

The men took cash from the victim’s trouser pocket before fleeing.

The victim was taken to hospital.

Det Con Andy Clayton, of Kirklees CID, said: “This attack left the victim with painful physical injuries and in significant distress.

“We would like to trace these two suspects as soon as possible and are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen the attack or two men fitting this description in the area.”

One of the robbers has been described as a white man in his late 30s. He was 6ft 1in, of large build, with a shaved head and wore blue jeans.

The other man is also described as white and approximately 35 years old. He was 5ft 7in and of average build. He wore a plain black hooded-jacket with the hood up.
