A man was robbed and assaulted on the Spen Valley Greenway yesterday (Thursday).

The 27-year-old was approached by two men at around 1pm.

They asked the man for a lighter and 20 pence. The man, from Cleckheaton, then took a large wad of cash from his pocket.

One of the men hit him and took the money, his mobile phone and his cigarettes.

The man who approached him from the front is described as having tanned skin, 5ft 8ins, skinny and in his 20s or early teens. He was wearing a baseball cap and dark tracksuit top.

The other man, who approached the victim from behind, is described as white.
