Man denies causing death of mum crushed by van
A man has denied causing the death of a mother who was crushed by a runaway van.
Shabana Ahmed, 46, was walking three of her children home from school when the vehicle ploughed into them.
Mohammed Karani, 43, of Park Close, Batley, appeared at Kirklees Magistrates Court yesterday (Monday).

Hide AdHe denied the charge of causing death by driving without due care and attention on April 26 this year.
At the time, we reported that Mrs Ahmed may have died while shielding her children from the van after picking them up from Eastborough Junior and Infant School.
One of her children was injured seriously, another suffered minor injuries and another escaped unharmed as she was walking ahead.
Karani is due to appear at Leeds Crown Court on December 9. He was granted unconditional bail.
