M62 closed after van crash near Batley
The M62 was closed between J26 and J27 eastbound after crash involving a van and two cars.
A woman in her late twenties was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being cut from a van, which crashed at around 1.40pm this afternoon (Saturday).
Watch commander Robin Ferguson from West Yorkshire Fire Service: “The van ended up close to the central reservation.

Hide Ad“After sliding the vehicle, removing the door and extricating the victim we realised the injuries to her arm, leg and back were serious.”
Drivers were diverted at J26 to rejoin at J27.
Another accident at 3.20pm closed the M62 westbound at J26, but this has since been cleared.
A spokesman for the Highways Agency said: “We are working as hard as possible to clear the incident.”
