Locala Community Partnerships CIC has appointed a new chief executive.

Karen Jackson joins the NHS community healthcare provider from her previous role as interim chief executive for Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust.

During her time at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust Karen was responsible for delivering quality and financial improvements, and driving a significantly improved culture around quality and patient safety, and staff engagement.

Karen said: “I am very happy to be joining such an innovative NHS organisation, and particularly one with Locala’s position as a social enterprise.

“I have had experience of managing community healthcare services in the past and firmly believe that the future of healthcare relies on the development and growth of community-based healthcare services. I am very much looking forward to building on all the great work done by Locala so far.”

Locala chairwoman, Diane McKerracher, said: “I am delighted to welcome Karen to the organisation.

“I am confident that she will provide excellent leadership to our board of directors, and Locala as a whole.”
