Local firm joins the region’s green elite

Parker Hannifin’s Racor Filter Division Europe was crowned a regional winner at the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards 2012.

The company, which makes engine filtration and fuel delivery systems, picked up the EEF North East Region Green and Growth Award.

It recognises the success of the SuperImpactor crankcase ventilator, a high performance emission control system. The project, part financed by the European Regional Development Fund Programme, has increased the business’ growth in Europe, the Middle East and Asia by seven per cent.

EEF regional director Andy Tuscher said: “Manufacturing is vital to economic recovery and companies like Parker Hannifin are setting the benchmark.

“They have seized the business opportunities offered by the green agenda and are helping the UK’s effort to build a low carbon economy.”
