Lisa pockets pool place

Lisa, 25, took part in the qualifying competition last weekend and came second, the top four players making up the Ireland team.

“Obviously I’m incredibly pleased to have made the team,” she said.

Lisa, a legal secretary at Jordans Solicitors in Dewsbury, who qualifies for Ireland through her father, began playing in pool leagues when she was 15.

“I just took to it naturally,” she said.

Now she competes on the Ladies International Tour, plays league pool twice a week and every other Sunday and in between gets in as much practice as she can.

Lisa, of North Street, Mirfield, is sponsored by Springwell Motors in Liversedge, Mirfield Skip Hire and Morley Snooker Centre, but is looking for more support.

She said: “We have to pay for our own travel, accommodation and other costs, which is very expensive.”
