Mr Hussain, 29, was born in Dewsbury and studied at St Paulinus Primary School, St John Fisher Catholic High School and Dewsbury College before graduating with a degree in media and journalism at the University of Huddersfield.

The married father-of-two works as a team leader at PC World in Wakefield.

Mr Hussain said he was passionate about fighting for local people and protecting local services. He will be campaigning to protect services at Dewsbury and District Hospital.

Mr Hussain stressed his local credentials and said he had an unrivalled knowledge of the area having always lived in Dewsbury.

“In May, the electorate face a choice – you can have the same old imported MPs from other towns or a person who understands Dewsbury,” he added.
