Leaders Heaton march on in cup

HANGING Heaton, who lead the way in Pennine Division Six, were too strong for Division Five side Whitworth in the Supplementary Cup second round tie.

Heaton were very well led by Hainsworth who went on to earn the MoM award.

He had a hand in nearly all Heaton’s seven tries and was on top goalkicking form with seven out of seven.

Other good games came from forwards Windle, Fallas, Holderness and Taylor, who all punched holes in the Spartans defence.

On a very muddy field the backs also played their part with Aked, Williams, Brook, Boardman, Brown, Doran, Lonergan impressing.

Debutant Palmer showed promising signs and all the subs made their contribution.

The tries were scored by Brook (two), Aked, Lonergan, Brown, Windle and Fallas.

Hanging Heaton are away to Selby in the next round and host Cowling Harlequins in the league this week.
