Highways England has closed one out of three lanes on the westbound exit slip road at Tingley (junction 28) on the M62 to allow Northern Gas Networks to carry out work at the junction.

The number of lanes around the roundabout has also been reduced to allow the work to be carried out safely.

Road users intending on using the M62 westbound carriageway at junction 28 are advised to allow additional time for their journeys or find alternative routes.

Site manager for Northern Gas Networks, Brad Metcalf said: “We’re sorry for the delays caused by these essential gas works. Our engineers are working around the clock to complete the repair as soon as possible. Please try to allow extra time for travel and find an alternative route if possible. Thank you for bearing with us.”
