A WOMAN walking her dog in a Dewsbury park had her engagement ring stolen at knifepoint.

The 23-year-old was near the duck pond in Crow Nest Park at 5.45pm last Friday when a man wearing a balaclava threatened her.

The man took her engagement ring before being scared off by the lights of a silver Vauxhall Corsa pulling in nearby.

The robber, who was thought to be Asian, was 5ft 3in tall with a small build.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who saw a man loitering near the pond.

Officers are also keen to speak to the driver or passengers of the car which pulled into the park during the robbery.
