Kirklees top earners take home more than Prime Minister

TOP earners in the public sector in Kirklees have been revealed in a pay review.

Ten Kirklees Council staff, including directors, two teachers and former chief executive Rob Vincent each earned more than £100,000 last year,

According to the review, by the BBC and Bureau of Investigative Journalism, Mr Vincent’s total pay for 2009/10, including any bonuses was £159,447.

Another, unnamed council executive took was paid £157,500.

Two teachers pay was listed as £102,500, while two Kirklees PCT executives pay was at £127,500 and £107,500.

The Panorama investigation, which looked at top earners’ salaries, extra pay, othere expenses and bonuses, did not include emergency service bosses across West Yorkshire.

The salaries were compared to PM David Cameron’s base salary of £142,500.
