Kids’ book event will be a real pageturner
Pageturners Children’s Book Festival runs from Friday March 7 to Saturday March 15.
The nine-day festival is the first of its kind across Kirklees and Calderdale and includes children’s authors, storytelling, puppetry, poetry, rhythm, rhyme and much more.

Hide AdThe aim of the week is to bring the printed word to life for children and young adults and encourage a love of reading.
It starts on Friday March 7 with a World Book Day Quiz for schools in Kirklees, followed by the official launch at the Central Library, Halifax, on Saturday March 8.
This will lead on to a week full of events in schools culminating in a spectacular finale at the University of Huddersfield at 10am on Saturday March 15.
The finale is open to all families and will be packed full of fun and entertainment including storytelling, street theatre, craft sessions and workshops from a whole range of artists.
It will include readings and workshops from established award-winning authors Melvin Burgess and Paul Dowswell and fresh young talents, such as Annabel Pitcher, Sam Gayton and Tom Avery.
