Jimmy Cricket comes to Spen to take on Suarez!

The distinctive comedian was in the Hartshead Club in Liversedge to shoot the video for his brand new comedy song I’ve Been Bit By Luis Suarez.

Hide AdThe video follows the comic who, back from a holiday in Uruguay, regales Rob the landlord with a tale of how he got on the wrong-side of the hot-headed Barcelona star.
The comic said: “It is a tale of espionage in South America!
“I have a friend who runs Loom studios in Birstall – they were telling me they wanted me to do a comedy song.
“I had been watching the biting incident at the World Cup, so I decided to make one about that.”

Hide AdThe song’s chorus goes: “I was bit by Luis Suarez/And it wasn’t just a peck/When I was bit by Luis Suarez/I got it in the neck.”
The video features terrace-style chanting, and some pub regulars waving maracas. It was shot on Wednesday, and is currently being edited.
Jimmy, based in Rochdale, said: “I really enjoyed filming up here.
“The views from Hartshead are beautiful – the Spen Valley is such a picturesque place.”

Hide AdThe veteran comedian still tours regularly, and said he has shows within the next week in Hunstanton and Skegness.
He added: “I might even get the crowd to join in with an acapela version of the song!”
