It’s an education

The Olivier Award-winning show, which stars Matthew Kelly as Frank and Claire Sweeney as Rita, will take to the stage at the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford on June 18-23.

Considered a classic of British theatre, Educating Rita tells the story of the relationship between a feisty Liverpudlian hairdresser and a jaded university professor. Rita has a passion for literature and is intent upon self-improvement. Frank’s disillusionment with life has driven him to the bottle.

As Rita grapples with the trials of education and begins to challenge the attitudes of the university and her tutor, Frank begins to question his own understanding of his work and learns to believe in himself again.
