Kamal Devesher, who has owned Paperland on Northgate for 13 years, has received a certificate from the National Lottery which says yet another lucky punter has won the jackpot on a lottery ticket bought in his shop.

Proud Kamal says he has had quite a few big cash winners over the years, including £1.6m jackpot winners Stephen and Janette Wright, who bought their ticket from him in June 2008.

Since then people have been using Kamal’s lottery machine with the hope of having a lucky win.

Kamal said: “The latest winner is from last month and I’m told they won over £2m.

“That’s the second time someone has scooped the jackpot with a ticket from my shop.”

“We seem to be a very lucky shop.

People come from miles around to buy a ticket because of how many people have won big amounts.

“There have been quite a few customers who have thousands of pounds - some have even won £50k plus.”

One lucky lottery player won £50,000 in 2004, and Kamal saw another £100,000 winner in 2010.

Kamal moved to Britain from Delhi, India, in 1980, and opened the shop in 2002 after leaving his job as an insurance broker in Bradford.

He is proud to have another poster to display in his shop to let people know about the latest big win and hopes that the luck will continue for the shop in the future for even more of his customers.
