Is Starbucks set to open store in Mirfield?

COFFEE giant Starbucks looks set to open a store in Mirfield.

Details of two positions at a coffee shop in the town were advertised on the Jobcentre Plus website this week.

The firm advertising the vacancies, Euro Garages Limited, said it was looking for a store manager to run a coffee shop and a supervisor who could make a range of coffees.

The firm runs more than 70 petrol station forecourts across the country and last year announced a partnership with Starbucks.

Applicants were asked to email their CVs to [email protected].

Euro Garages announced its partnership with Starbucks in November, saying it hoped to open as many as 100 roadside Starbucks branches.

However, Euro Garages does not have any Mirfield premises listed on its website, so it is not clear whether Starbucks will open at an existing petrol station forecourt or one that the firm has plans to open.

Starbucks did not comment on the Mirfield job advertisements.

No one from Euro Garages could be reached for comment.

At the start of last year, Starbucks had more than 17,000 branches worldwide but it does not yet have a Mirfield branch.

When the Reporter went to press, the store manager advert had been removed from Jobcentre Plus, but the supervisor details were available.
