Hundreds of pounds worth of rugs stolen from Birstall retail park

Police have released CCTV images of a man in connection with the theft of hundreds of pounds worth of rugs from shops in Birstall and Guiseley.

The CCTV images are from the store on Birstall Retail Park. The Birstall offence happened shortly after 1.30pm on October 14 when a man removed two rugs from the shop display and left without making any attempt to pay.

A further offence in which another two rugs were stolen happened at a store on West Side Retail Park in Guiseley later that day at around 2.30pm.

PC Chris Birkenshaw, of Batley & Spen Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We are keen to identify the man pictured as part of our enquiries in to these two linked thefts.

“We would urge anyone who recognises this man - or indeed the man himself - to please call Batley & Spen Neighbourhood Policing Team via 101
