Huge support for Rams stadium plan
Three consultation exercises took place this week. Harron Homes, which wants to build 203 homes next to the Tetley’s stadium, will also provide a full size floodlit all-weather sports pitch and two floodlit all weather multi use games area for the Rams. They will also cover the cost of a new 334 space car park to provide more space for the Rams to grow in future.

A spokesman for leaseholders Stirling Scotfield said: “The public consultation has now been completed and we have received overwhelming support from those who have attend the drop in sessions for the development proposals.
“We now intend to move forward with Harron Homes and the Dewsbury Rams RLFC to submit a formal planning application in the next month.

The number of proposed houses has already dropped from 234 to 203 after the initial consultation. The distance between the planned homes and those on Bywell Close has also been increased, and there will be more trees to provide screening.
A spokesman for Harron Homes said: “We are delighted to be working with Stirling Scotfield, Dewsbury Rams RLFC and Kirklees Council and we are looking forward to bringing much needed quality housing to the local area and state of the art community facilities for both the club and the local community to benefit from for many years to come.”
