Rebecca Finch from the service will be helping residents to increase awareness of the many types of scams and possible scenarios they may face on their doorstep.

Graham Hebblethwaite, West Yorkshire’s chief Trading Standards officer, said: “The SAFER project will enable residents to feel confident in their communities and help protect themselves against itinerant traders and becoming the victim of scams.

“It will also tackle the issues of fuel poverty and increase the health and wellbeing of older people.”
