Honour for cadet Chelsey

A talented cadet from Dewsbury Army Cadet Force detachment has been appointed as the Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet – the highest honour in the Cadets – in recognition of her outstanding service in the force.

Company Sergeant Major Chelsey Gray, 17, was presented with the award by Dr Ingrid Roscoe, the Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire.

Since joining Dewsbury detachment over five years ago, Chelsey has regularly represented her Company and Brigade in sports events.

And it was her skill as a marksman which stood out and led to her success at an international cadet rifle competition last year, and this in turn resulted in her selection on a prestigious marksman course in Canada.
