Historic buildings under the spotlight

A major conference studying vernacular buildings will be held in Birstall and Liversedge next weekend.

Vernacular buildings are those which are typical for an area, built from local materials and following a local style.

The event, at the Black Bull in Birstall on May 17-19, is organised by the Yorkshire Vernacular Buildings Study Group, supported by Spen Valley Civic Society and the Spen Valley Historial Society,
