Happy Days fan Kathryn Parry, 48, and fellow Batley and Birstall library workers took the chance to pose with the star.

Mum-of-two Kathryn, of Emley Moor, said: “He arrived to collect some takeaway pizzas.

“Being a fan of that age, I asked if we could have pictures and he kindly agreed. I had a T-shirt when I was younger with his face all over it.

“I need to educate my younger children, who didn’t have a clue who I was photographed with. We did the the thumbs up on the picture. I tried to explain, unsuccesfully – needless to say, they were unimpressed.”

The actor, who was filming in Leeds, campaigns for dyslexia awareness after suffering with the condition – he read his first book aged 31, according to an interview with national newspaper The Guardian.

Restaurant owner Luigi Dabundo said: “He came four times for eating inside with some of his crew and sometimes by himself. It was nice to see somebody like him here. He was a good fellow.”
