Health warning issued as Tesco recall chocolate biscuit range

A bag of chocolate biscuits aimed at children has been recalled from by Tesco after it was revealed it could be a possible health risk.

Tesco has recalled all of its Mini Monkey Milk Chocolate Biscuits because the presence of peanut protein is not mentioned on the label.

The biscuits are a possible health risk for anyone who has an allergy to peanuts, according to the Food Standards Agency.

The 125g bags are affected across all date codes.

The official product recall notice said: “Through testing we have become aware that peanut protein may be present in Tesco Mini Monkey Milk Chocolate Biscuits.

“The product has a ‘May Contains’ nut warning but peanut is not declared on the product label. This product may be unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of peanuts.”

Customers who have purchased the biscuits and have an allergy to peanuts should not eat them.

Instead, return it to the store where it was bought or contact Tesco Customer Relations on 0800 505 555.

A full refund will be given and no receipt is required.
