Haulage firm goes global

Bedfords Group, in Pheasant Drive, applied for the licence after receiving growing demand for their services across Europe.

The company recently acquired network hauliers LinQ Alliance, which boosted its links across the continent.

Bedfords is the founder member and shareholder of the Palletforce network, which acts as an express delivery service for freight.

Managing director Steff Pfadenhauer said: “This is part of our company’s evolution and growth.

“We are always looking to move forward, and deliver above and beyond the expectations of our clients.

“As part of our natural progression we are now duty-bound to deliver a high quality service across Europe, which we will gladly do if it benefits our customers.”

Bedfords employs around 160 people in the UK and has 70 vehicles operating on the country’s roads.

Its annual turnover is around £26 million.

The company also has an active Children’s Road Safety Scheme, fronted by Beddy the Truck and LinQy, which is aimed educating five to seven-year-olds about safety issues on the roads.
