ALL SMILES Rob Huckle of the RAF Typhoon Display with Abby Steele of Cleckheaton's YDS Boots

YDS Boots, based at Chain Bar, Cleckheaton, will now supply the Royal Air Force’s Typhoon display team with its latest boot design.

The display team takes part in air show events around the country, and members will now be wearing Goliath’s latest Resolve GTX boot.

Abigail Steele, from YDS, presented Rob Huckle, chief technician with the Typhoon display team, with the new boot.

Mr Huckle said: “The team need durable quality footwear that will withstand all the elements come rain or shine, we are extremely grateful for the support of YDS.”

After presenting the boots at the team’s base in Lincolnshire, Abigail stuck around for a mini air demonstration.

She said: “I had the pleasure of seeing a practice display at RAF Coningsby and even on that very blustery day the defiant Typhoon performed some unbelievable loops and twists, flips and turns – it was fantastic to see.

“We are proud to support the RAF team with quality made YDS boots.”

The company signed a deal last year that will see the company provide up to 100,000 pairs of boots per year to forces such as the Army, Navy and Marines.
