Green businesses in Kirklees to be recognised
Nominations are being taken for the Kirklees Green Business Awards, which recognise businesses working hard to reduce their carbon footprint and help the environment.
All business who enter will be invited to an awards ceremony at Dewsbury Town Hall on Thursday October 6 to see the winners presented with their awards and cash towards environmental improvements.

Hide AdBut you’ll need to be quick – the deadline for nominations is 4pm on Wednesday August 31.
The judges are looking for examples of commitment or innovation that have a real impact and could be used as best practice to help other businesses in the future.
It could setting up a recycling scheme, changing to low voltage lighting to reduce energy use or using public transport instead of driving to work.
The prizes up for grabs are:
Kirklees Green Business of the Year Award – £300
North Kirklees Green Business of the Year Award – £200
Huddersfield Green Business of the Year Award (for any business with a HD postcode) – £200
Award for Best Waste Reduction Initiative - £150
Award for Best Energy Reduction Initiative - £150
