Kayden Carty raised the cash for the NHS after doing 100 laps of the roundabout on the Shirley Avenue Estate, in Gomersal.

The eight-year-old was inspired to raise the money after Yorkshireman Captain (now Honourary Colonel) Tom Moore, whose NHS appeal topped nearly £33m.

His mum, Heather Carty said: "He started the donations off by putting £10 of his own birthday money in himself."

Carty's inspirational figure, Captain Tom, turned 100 years old last week, made national headlines after raising the incredible amount for the NHS by walking 100 laps of his garden, and consequently inspired a Covid-19-hit Britain.
