Further overnight closures on the M62

NIGHTTIME drivers could face disruptions this month, as work continues on the M62.

The eastbound carriageway at junction 28 (Tingley) will be closed overnight on Saturday, with a diversion via the entry and exit slip roads. The eastbound carriageway between junctions 27 and 28 will also be closed overnight on Sunday, with a diversion via the local road network, and the westbound carriageway at junction 27 only will also be closed, with a diversion through the slip roads.

Road closures will also take place on the motorway between junctions 29 (Lofthouse) and 30 (Rothwell) to enable the Highways Agency to install the remaining four new gantries which form part of the managed motorway scheme between junction 25 and junction 30.

The closures will begin tomorrow, and run until mid-December.

The Highways agency has also warned that, in addition to the overnight weekend closures, there will also be various overnight carriageway, lane and slip road closures on weeknights between junctions 25 to 30 until the end of the year. Drivers are reminded to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys.
