Fundraising for the national appeal will reach its peak today as people in Dewsbury and Mirfield join in the fun.

Children at Savile Town Infant and Nursery will be wearing pyjamas or their favourite party outfits for a ‘dress up, dress down’ non-uniform day.

And the charity’s mascot Pudsey Bear will be calling in to meet little ones at Children’s Place nurseries in Staincliffe and Ravensthorpe.

Students at In House Training in Ravensthorpe have planned a variety of activities, including cake and buns stall and a non-uniform event to raise money.

They have also carried out a variety of beauty and hair treatments at the training salon, with proceeds going to Children in Need.

Lecturer Shaesta Seedat said: “The students worked extremely well as a team to make this charity event a success.

“I am delighted with all the students and staff at In House Training for all their hard work, effort and donations for this good cause.” Meanwhile, the Dewsbury branch of Leeds Building got its efforts off to a early start this year with a spooky Halloween-themed cake sale.

The branch in Foundry Street was kitted out with spooky decorations while staff dressed up as everything from scary witches and black cats to bumblebees and X-Men’s Wolverine.
