Ashley Wright, Emily Wickham and Michaela Reisis have organised a Smile for Sarah charity night in a bid to carry out one of Sarah Binns’s longheld wishes.

Sarah was hit by a car as she crossed Dewsbury Road near the Woodkirk Valley Country Club after leaving a wedding reception with her fiancé on November 10. The mum, from Birstall, died at Leeds General Infimary from her injuries.

It is hoped Sunday’s charity event at Audio Nightclub in Batley will raise £3,500 to send three-year-old Oliver, Sarah’s fiancé and her parents to Disneyland Paris.

Ashley, who worked with Sarah for four years at Tesco Extra in Batley, was also a guest at the wedding.

She was told about the tragic accident the following morning and said it was a sobering moment.

“Sarah was the loveliest, most caring person you would ever meet,” she said. “She would do anything for anybody.

“We always get told at work that we don’t smile enough so we thought Smile for Sarah was a fitting name – she was always smiling.”

The fundraiser begins at 6pm and will feature Christmas stalls, raffles, tombolas, an auction and DJ. To get involved email [email protected].
