The group hosted a marquee during the Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club’s Autumn Show in the Dewsbury park.

Chairman Dennis Ripley said: “Sometimes people think ‘My family photographs won’t be of any interest, it’s just us playing about’, but that’s not the case – we’re looking to build up a pictorial history of our lake and family snaps from any decade are exactly what we want.

“The same applies to memories of the lake – the more memories we can collect, the more interesting the picture we can create of the way people responded to the lake in the Park.

“Photos and memories, including recent ones, are a very important part of Dewsbury’s heritage and show us how things have changed and evolved over time.””
