Four parks in the Batley and Dewsbury area have been awarded the Keep Britain Tidy Green Flag accolade during a ceremony at Dewsbury Town Hall.
Oakwell Hall, Wilton Park, Crow Nest Park and West End Park in Cleckheaton all received the internationally recognised award.
Oakwell Hall Country Park also received the coveted additional Green Heritage Site Accreditation for the management of the historic features.
The parks are among a record-breaking 1,883 UK parks and green spaces that received a prestigious Green Flag this year – the mark of a quality park or green space.
PPG Industries (Johnstones Paint) which actively supports community groups in Birstall and Batley also received a business award.
Councillor Naheed Mather, cabinet member for communities and the environment, said: “I would like to thank all those involved in making our parks fantastic places to visit for their truly inspiring dedication.
“From the friends groups and volunteers to the site staff, it is your commitment, inspiration and enthusiasm that has helped the parks achieve these awards.
“From Oakwell Hall where country park assistants Tony Sims and Les Hughes and country park officer Amanda Walker have worked hard to get the country park its 14th Green Flag; to Castle Hill where the tower team has achieved its first: There are so many people who show their dedication to making these places beautiful.
“With summer upon us I would encourage everyone to visit their local park, they are wonderful places to spend time.”
