The Leeds United supporter said he always decorates his home for every international tournament, but this year he has gone one step further.

The 35-year-old, of Ealand Road, Batley, said: “I have always loved football and especially watching England.

“And now that my daughters are a bit older, I wanted to do something special.

“I’d like to put some more up but the wife is not too happy about it.”

Football mad Stuart played the sport locally for 22 years, including a spell for Howden Clough in the West Yorkshire Association Football League.

The dad-of-two said the reaction to his decorations had been positive, especially from his daughters Lily-Mae and Sian Louise.

“My wife put a picture of the house up on Facebook and when I went back into work, my work mates were all joking with me asking me what I had done,” he said.

“But more importantly the girls like it.”

As England prepare for their game against Italy on Saturday, Stuart is confident the Three Lions can reach the latter stages of the World Cup.

“I think we will beat Italy and Costa Rica and maybe get a draw with Uruguay,” he said.

“Then hopefully we can go all the way!”
