Firefighters cut engagement ring off Scout Hill woman’s hand
Firefighters used specialist equipment to cut an engagement ring off a woman’s hand yesterday (Monday).
A crew from Dewsbury Fire Station was sent to Ravens Avenue in Scout Hill just before 4pm.
Crew commander Howard Moxon said: “We get these calls occasionally.
“I think the woman had tried the usual washing up liquid, butter and bucket of ice.
“We have a special tool called a ring cutter and it’s done within minutes. It’s quite painless!”
