Fire crews tackled a car blaze in Batley this morning.

Firefighters from Dewsbury were called to Warwick Road at 2.20am, where they found a Citroen Xantia ablaze.

The vehicle had been edged up against the wall of the Myers Building Supplies and the blaze caused damage to the external damage to the cladding of the building.

The interior of the building was also heavily smoke logged.

Crews used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke and hose reels to extinguish the blaze in the car.
