Come rain or shine, the town will be buzzing on Sunday, August 18, when the gates open for Mirfield’s most popular annual event. And we’ve got everything you need to plan a fantastic family day out in our special eight page supplement.

Committee chairwoman Karen Bullivant said: “This really is the culmination of a year’s work.

“We’ve got a fantastic team of volunteers that are putting the show on. There’s going to be lots going on and lots of excitement.”

It’s not just the headline acts in the main arena that have everyone talking.

Mrs Bullivant said: “I know there are teams being formed around Mirfield for the tug of war competition as we speak. It’s going to be a hard fought contest.

“I’m always thrilled with the crowd who really get behind the teams.”
